The entry process for EYFS is flexible and can be built around the needs of your family.
Nursery
To enter Nursery, children must have reached the age of three by 31st August prior to the start of the academic year in which they will become four. Children can undertake taster sessions during the preceding summer term but, if they have not yet turned three, a parent/carer would need to accompany your child at these sessions.
Children starting in September at the age of three will initially be offered morning or afternoon sessions, but they can increase their hours as the year goes on.
Reception Class
Children move from Nursery to Reception in the September following their fourth birthday.
Following a formal application to join Sibford School, families will be invited to meet with our Head of Junior School. If it is felt that Sibford is a suitable fit for the applicant, they will be invited to attend a two-day taster session.
Typically, the first day will be spent getting to know prospective peers, teachers and the learning environment. On the second day children will undergo assessments focusing on core skills in reading, spelling and mathematics. These will be carried out on a one-to-one basis with a member of the Junior School Support for Learning department.
Following taster days and assessments, our Admissions Registrar will be in touch regarding a formal offer to join Sibford School.
