“Could liquid biopsy revolutionise cancer diagnosis and treatment?”
Led by ex Sibford pupil Thomas Charlesworth from Cambridge Epigenetix. “Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of cells and current methods to diagnose it are uncomfortable, inaccurate and inconvenient. New technologies have opened up the possibility of diagnosing many cancers with a simple blood test, aka a liquid biopsy”.
This talk will cover Tom’s career to date, how cancer happens and some of the new technologies that make liquid biopsy a realistic near-future option to improve cancer diagnosis, treatment and therefore survival.
