Goodbye to Year 11 and 13.
After a busy half term of revision and mini assessments, the final week for Year 11 and 13 provided an opportunity for all pupils to celebrate their time at Sibford.
For Year 11 there was time to learn some valuable life skills, from first aid to managing rent / mortgage payments and cooking to a RSE workshop, all pupils enthusiastically embraced the opportunities. Alongside these workshops, were a series of challenges encouraging creativity and teamwork alongside some fun!
On the final day, Year 11 walked cheerfully to the Meeting House in Sibford Gower. Sitting together in their bubble, they reflected on the highlights of school life and the relationships formed during their time together. For many, this was a very poignant moment. The day ended with the Leavers’ video, shirt signing and much merriment as they wished everyone well during the BBQ lunch.
Jill Spence, Head of KS4 said 'Without a doubt, the global pandemic has made this a challenging journey through Key Stage 4 with two lockdowns and changes to the exam system to take on board. We couldn’t be prouder of the way our Year 11s have risen to the challenges and wish them all a fantastic summer break before their Sixth Form adventures.'
Year 13 started their last day with an emotional leavers meeting, this was followed by a game of rounders in the sun and a BBQ lunch. In the afternoon Year 13 played the annual Angus Oakey memorial football match against Year 12, with the leavers coming out on top. Pupils then enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea and were inducted into the Sibford School Old Scholar's Association (SOSA) before leaving campus for the last time.
We wish all our leavers the very best in their next chapter, and we look forward to welcoming back those who will return to Sixth Form in Year 12 in September.
