Announcement Results

Pupils at Sibford School in Oxfordshire have been celebrating their A Level and BTEC results once again, with the vast majority achieving places to study at their first-choice universities.

The overall pass rate was 100% across all subjects, with 40% of students awarded A*- A grades in their A Level and BTEC exams. There were particularly strong results in our BTEC qualifications with 86% achieving a Distinction or higher. A special congratulations goes to JJ, who achieved three A* and one A in Economics, Maths, Further Maths and Physics.

These achievements have opened the doors to exciting opportunities for the class of 2023, as they embark on their next academic journey at universities all across the county.

Toby Spence, the outgoing Head of Sibford School, commented: "I am immensely proud of the class of 2023 for their A-Level and BTEC results. It has been a privilege to witness their personal growth and academic development during their Sixth Form years at Sibford School. Their remarkable achievements must be viewed through the lens of Covid-19; how well they have coped with the particular challenges for all students since that time and the national picture of a return to pre-Covid grading by the examination boards. To this end I am delighted that our students’ overall A* - A awards as well as their overall results that have improved since 2019 – reflecting the resilience and continued dedication of our students.”

“These results are a testament to the diligence and hard work of our students and the fabulous support provided by our staff team. We wish all of our students every success in their future endeavours be that at university or college, at work or on a gap year.”

As we celebrate the achievements of our students, we also look forward to welcoming Rebecca Evans as the incoming Head of Sibford School from September. Expressing her excitement about this year's results, Rebecca said, "I am thrilled to join Sibford School and be part of such a vibrant and successful academic community. The A-Level and BTEC results are a testament to the dedication of both the students and the staff. I am eager to build upon this strong foundation and work together with the students, parents, and staff to further enhance the excellence that Sibford School is known for."
