Rita achieved Gold, and also qualified for the next round (for approximately the top 7000 students in the country). JJ achieved Silver and Theo, Milo, Hester, Kara, Hannah, Sam, Ollie and Ed achieved Bronze.
These are fantastic results, congratulations to all!
Maths Inspiration
Written by Kara, Year 11.
We went to the Maths Inspiration event in Birmingham last week and we all found it very interesting and informative. It was an interactive talk which made it fun and engaging and we learnt about some of the different ways that maths can be used, such as in medicine with things like COVID tests.
We learnt about how some maths problems can be counterintuitive and require taking time to work out as you may think you know an answer but some questions can be misleading, and we learnt about statistics and probability with the example of a deck of cards and the chances of getting certain hands. Overall, we thought that it was a great talk to attend and we all learnt a lot from it.
